Hi everyone and welcome! I am an amateur genealogist, researching my entire direct ancestry as well as attempting to research all of my 1st, 2nd and 3rd cousins. Sorry 4th cousins, there are WAY too many of you to track. As of October 10, 2022, my family tree includes 6,154 people, including 2,591 direct ancestors going back 24 generations, and 1,608 1st, 2nd and 3rd cousins. And, in addition to all those people, you have a ton of spouses, siblings, and other research topics of interest to get to the 6,154 people. Wow! Anyway, welcome! This site is just getting started in the fall of 2022, but I have been working so long on the family tree it will take some time to get some content up on this page. I am going to work on this page and try to make it "family tree" friendly, which basically means it needs some serious organization. I do have a full family tree on Ancestry, I use Family Tree Maker currently, and I have both Ancestry DNA and 23 and me DNA profiles and trees. This site is organized by my 8 sets of 2nd great grandparents - 16 ancestors! There are 4 separate sets of Finnish ancestors, 2 sets of Norwegian ancestors, and 2 what I will call American/English ancestors though that is not quite right. Any post that I make about specific ancestors or relatives will be tagged to one of those 8 couples, and of course I will be posting more generic posts from time to time. So if you are here to look at your own family, click on the set of ancestors that apply to you, and it will just show you those posts. I am also going to create individual groups on Facebook (less used than before but it has the most current people on it!) for each of the 8 sets of ancestors. I don't think there is a good alternative to Facebook for those of you who just want to move on from them. Welcome and I hope you find this page to be interesting!
