The Elimination: I’m really tired of All Star, and I don’t even like this kind of music anymore really. The song had its time, obviously, as it was probably a number one hit. I’ve moved on because I really don’t like the kind of fake vocal that this song represents. The entire song is affected vocally. The chorus is of course a major earworm. I just can’t listen to this song anymore.
Jungle is an extremely fresh British band, that has released a bunch of Tik Tok videos involving dancers this year, and the first and biggest one is this Back in 74 song. I was initially drawn in by the video, as I have a small obsession with cool dance videos. Jungle had a brilliant idea to put a kind of dance storyline over their entire album, and it really took off. But after a while, this song really started to grow on me. Dance songs have a great advantage because they have to be fun, usually, and this one is no exception. The guitar ride, and layering vocals is just so fun, and as the song moves through the four minutes it keeps on changing and gets MORE fun. By the end I’m in love.
