The Elimination: One major vibe of 2023, with all these new depressed youngsters coming out with down tempo thrash rock, really fits into the Eliminator well. And as my daughter likes to say, the Eliminator 1000 is at risk of having a LOT of songs that sound very similar because I like this kind of music so much. But I’m aware of this flaw, and trying to break out of it. For now, though, I’m just gonna keep putting these songs in because I think they add to your life as a listener more than the song being Eliminated. I haven’t heard Theo Bleak before, but she has a kind of unique control as vocalist that gives her the ability to sing over those guitars in a kind of perfection. She fits this kind of song so well.
Every Little Thing She Does is Magic is SO overheard. Maybe it’s because I had this song on repeat in the 1980s, but I know this song by heart. Literally every note of those background guitars I know. I can hear it coming. One note of commentary, maybe Sting never should have left the Police. He went on to have a great solo career and got to diversify, but the Police did have a rocking element that Sting really lacked once he moved on, and it was a waste of his vocal skills to not stick with Police-style rock. Sting really is a special vocalist. But no one needs to hear this song one more time, really.
It’s Not Doing Me Any Good goes in at #698 (1,446 more listens). Every Little Thing She Does is Magic is Eliminated!
The Eliminator 1000 is a music refresh project, based on the idea that a really long playlist of truly outstanding songs can still be continually improved for the future listen.
