The Elimination: I added A Boy and a Girl to the Eliminator 1000 early on in the project because I seriously love this quasi-religious, holy, ethereal a capella music. And Voces 8 has a set of singers, including a very soprano who is amazing, that just knock it out of the park. So if I was doing another music project, that involved best vocals of all types, or something like that, this would definitely be in there. You can hear that soprano right at the beginning of the video. But the entire group has a precision and quality that is deserving of way more attention. Just not on this project.
CDMX is the kind of exploratory song that I really appreciate. This is a song about Mexico City by an Australian band, and the idea of the song is exploration. My son Rohan played this in his playlist recently, and we went to Mexico City together last year a family, but these two things I don’t think are related. I like the uptempo rock beat here, and the feel of the song. I’m not sure, exactly, how this song’s sound is created, outside of the vocals and the riffing guitar. But when it hits the chorus, I just want to sing along. That’s all you really need to make it into this project!
CDMX goes in at #856 (570 more listens). A Boy and a Girl is Eliminated!
The Eliminator 1000 is a music refresh project, based on the idea that a really long playlist of truly outstanding songs can still be continually improved for the future listen.
