I had made a bunch of “post-COVID” travel plans starting this month but now putting most of them on hold for the next month. The vaccines are still holding against hospitalizations, it appears, but you can’t look at the CDC to tell you whether that is true. It’s amazing how bad the CDC is on reporting on this stuff. Just absolutely terrible. No one has any idea whether deaths on the national level are all in the unvaccinated. It is positively amazing that whether the deaths and hospitalizations are vaccinated or not isn’t being tracked in any way. It’s the one issue that matters and the CDC is not on it. It’s like they dreamed up the entire reporting system without considering that after vaccination this is the one thing people would want to know. The data from all the sources I’m tracking still shows super high (but not perfect) vaccine effectiveness against hospitalizations and deaths, but those sources do NOT include the CDC or the federal government, and most of them do NOT differentiate between the vaccines. You have to look elsewhere. Terrible terrible terrible.
